Sleepless

September 11, 2017 , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Tired as the setting sun

I wake to a sullen moon

as the fall is to a season

and a lazy afternoon,

wayward to the day

thoughts all lost in motion

a caressing soothing scythe

harvesting lost devotion,

shifting by the shore and sea

near a twisting tale

stories from oblivion

bleeding hearts all set to sail;

when all the leaves are leaving

and the time will always come

the sky will fill with weeping

upon this dusty crumb.

What do you think?
