Blue songs for Iris

She was on the tippy tippy

when she ventured to the fro

teasing all the air

as her fancy began to grow,

“I will dance the world away!”

she yelled out to the sun

the clouds all started weeping

as time went on the run,

“but wherefore shall ye go?”

the cricket asked real small

“To the land of never going,

can you feel it, hear its call?”

everyone took in a listen

but nothing was revealed

she sighed with all her lonesomeness

and turned upon her heel.

Starry gaze upon the night

your mercy does elude

when all are seeking cake in life

and hash is all the food.
